My local Play N Trade is closing

by on Sep.02, 2010, under News

My local Play N Trade is going out of business. Sadly it’s the last one in the area. A whole lot of businesses have been closing their doors here in Florida and sadly they are some of the best places with some of the greatest people working at them. I frequented this store and the owner was a great guy, as is his mom. They just weren’t making money and had no choice. The sad day of close is on the 15th of September. All I’m left with now is a large number of Gamstops in the area. A store I have been boycotting for the past 2 years. Where will I buy games now? Looks like only when I make a 1-2 hour trip to another city or take a vacation somewhere with game stores but I won’t be getting games here. Good thing the Internet is always there.

I plead with everyone to fully support your local game stores. Stop shopping at Gamestop and supporting the con job that is used game sales. They don’t care about you or their employees. Your local game stores need your support and they care about you as a customer. Please don’t let these local businesses fail. Gamestop has quickly become the Wal-Mart and Starbucks of gaming only Gamestop is much much worse than either of these companies. If you don’t believe they run a crooked business practice bent on taking advantage of impoverished customers, unknowing parents, and innocent children just look around the Internet. Most of the stories are true and any manager left with a soul will tell you the sad and pathetic things they do to customers to make a buck.
